Before you buy
Size, fit & care
Handmade pieces are cut and finished individually. Here is how ours are sized, and how to keep them well.
How our pieces are sized
Fit by collection
Riwaayat suits
Each suit is made as a single exclusive size and is not produced in a size run. The size for a given piece is listed on its product page.
Khilat blazers
Cut two ways — a hip-length jacket that reads as tailoring, and a full-length coat that falls below the knee. The cut is stated on every product page.
Shawls & stoles
A shawl is wide enough to drape across the shoulders; a stole is narrower and made to sit at the neck. Both are one size.
Exact measurements
Ask before you order
Because every piece is individual, we measure to order rather than publish a generic chart. Send us the product name and we will give you its exact dimensions the same working day.
Caring for handmade cloth
Five things that matter
Dry clean embroidered pieces
Anything with hand embroidery should go to a specialist. It costs less than replacing the piece.
Fold, never hang shawls
Hanging stretches a shawl out of shape. Store folded in a breathable cotton bag, not plastic.
Pilling is normal
Fine fibres pill where they rub. Use a cashmere comb — never pull pills off by hand.
Keep out of direct sun
Sunlight fades embroidery thread faster than it fades cloth.
Hang coats on a broad hanger
Wire hangers deform the shoulder. A wide wooden hanger keeps the line.
Do not cut a pulled thread
Ease it back to the reverse with a blunt needle, or bring it to a specialist.
