Hip length with a band collar. The tonal palette makes it the easiest of the jackets to wear in daylight.
Khilat takes its name from the robe of honour once presented at court — the garment given to mark an occasion rather than to get through a season. Every piece is embroidered and finished by hand in Kashmir, so slight variation between one and the next is inherent to the work and is the mark of a maker rather than a fault.
